Located in the beautiful vineyards of the Rheingau in Oestrich-Winkel, Schloss Vollrads will offer us a unique location to celebrate our wedding together with you.


The Gutsrestaurant has a large garden that we will be using for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The spacious terrace will offer plenty of space to enjoy a great dinner. When the temperature drops later in the evening we will move inside where the Orangerie offers a great setup with enough space to dance or just enjoy a drink on the gallery.

How to get there

Unfortunately, Schloss Vollrads is not well connected to public transport. There is a regional train running to Oestrich-Winkel (RB10) but the location is in the vineyards and driving there is the best way to get there comfortably.

Shuttle

As you might not be familiar with the area and / or a car is not available to you, we are planning to offer a shuttle from Mainz city centre to the location. If some guests are staying at the same hotel we could organize a shuttle from that location as well. Additionally, we do want to offer a shuttle back running hourly from midnight until the end of the night. If you do plan on using either option, please reach out to us in advance.

We do encourage you to coordinate your arrival / departure with others if possible.

  • Is there a bus running to Schloss Vollrads?

    Unfortunatley, there is no convenient public transit option available to get you to the location. We recommend to drive there by car and offer spare seats to other guests. If you do need help to get to the location, please reach out to us in advance.

  • Is there parking available at Schloss Vollrads?

    Yes, there is a big parking lot availalbe right behind the main building. When you drive towards the main entrance, turn left and follow the street along the big wall to the back.

  • How long is the drive to Schloss Vollrads?

    The drive from Mainz is about 30 minutes. You can take the A643 to cross the Rhine and then continue along the river on the A66 / B42 until Oestrich-Winkel. From there you'll cross the town to head up into the vineyards.

  • What will the weather be like at the end of August?

    We do expect warm temperatures that still can reach 30 degrees but could also end up in the lower twenties. We do expect it to cool down at night, brining a sweater might be useful.

  • What is the plan if it rains?

    Let's hope it doesn't come to that. The Gutsrestaurant does offer the rooms to accommodate the whole day inside. If there is only a slight shower forecasted, we do plan on having the ceremony outside and offer umbrellas when needed.

  • Can we stay there over night?

    Unfortunately, Schloss Vollrads does not offer any accommodation for the night. Please see the Accommodation page for recommendations where you can stay.
